Ruta Vanagaite

Ruta Vanagaite is a Lithuanian journalist and author. Her third best-selling book, “Our People” deals with the complicity of Lithuanians in Holocaust crimes. The book was published in Lithuania in 2016 and created a national scandal. It was removed from all bookshelves in Lithuania in 2017.

The book had already been published in Israel, Poland, Sweden, Russia and USA and soon to be published in Japan and Ukraine. Ruta did not stop her research after all her books were removed from the bookshelves in her home country.

Rather, she teamed up with the world’s leading expert on the Holocaust in Lithuania, Dr. Christoph Dieckmann. Their new book "How Did It Happen?" will be self-published in Lithuania in June 2020.
