Sigal, currently the Religion Editor at The Atlantic, is an award-winning novelist, journalist, essayist and playwright. Sigal writes about race and identity politics, the portrayal of Mizrachi Jews in the media and her search for her Indian Jewish origins. She also authored The Mystics of Mile End, a critically acclaimed novel about a dysfunctional Jewish family with a dangerous mystical obsession that won the Fiction Prize at the Canadian Jewish Literary Awards. Sigal previously worked as an editor at The Daily Beast and The Forward, has appeared on the BBC and Huffington Post Live, and her six plays have been produced in theatres from New York to Vancouver.
