Mira Sucharov is Associate Professor of Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, where she is a three-time teaching award winner. Specializing in Israeli-Palestinian relations and Jewish affairs, she is the author of The International Self: Psychoanalysis and the Search for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (SUNY Press), is a regular columnist at the Canadian Jewish News, and is a frequent columnist at Haaretz and the Jewish Daily Forward.
Her writing has also appeared in the Globe and Mail, The Daily Beast, NOW Toronto, and The Walrus. For a column on Holocaust education and Israeli policy, she won a Rocker Award for excellence in Jewish journalism. She is currently the country analyst for Israel for Freedom House’s annual Freedom in the World report; she sits on the board of Ameinu, she is on the Academic Council of Open Hillel, and she is the co-chair of the Third Narrative — Scholars for Israel and Palestine.
